Now, Zyn users are buzzing about another purported side effect: Some claim that their habit has triggered weight loss. Andrea Hernández, author of consumer trend newsletter Snaxshot, pointed out this craze this week, sharing a collection of social media posts about Zyn and weight loss. "I've used Zyn nicotine pouches occasionally over the past few years but have started to use them regularly because they help me focus and curb my hunger," a Reddit user wrote in r/intermittentfasting. While nicotine pouches circumvent the health effects of cigarettes that are caused by tobacco, they still do a number on your body. She worries that "we don't fully understand how nicotine works to regulate appetite in people, specifically with obesity."

The diagnosis came after the British monarch underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate in January. In a statement shared with Business Insider, the palace did not disclose Charles' form of cancer but said that the health issue was discovered while the UK royal was undergoing his prostate procedure. On January 17, the palace announced that Charles had an enlarged prostate and would be undergoing a "corrective procedure" later in the month. It's fairly common to detect cancer during an enlarged prostate procedure, Brahmbhatt told BI. Brahmbhatt said procedures to treat an enlarged prostate can reveal cancers of the prostate, penis, testicles, bladder, or kidneys.

Such is the case with Sutton Foster as the eccentric Princess Winnifred in the Encores! revival of “Once Upon a Mattress,” which opened Wednesday at City Center. The central role in this broadly goofy musical was exuberantly, indelibly originated by Carol Burnett in 1959. And Winnifred, described by another character as “a strangely energetic swamp girl,” is an ideal outlet for that sensibility. “Once Upon a Mattress” is nobody’s idea of a great musical, but it is many people’s idea of a fun one.

De Graaf, a 30-year veteran of the European Commission, was tasked with resurrecting the EU office in the Bay Area. The generative AI boomGenerative AI was a virtually foreign concept when de Graaf arrived in San Francisco last September. In June, the European Parliament cleared a major step in passing the EU AI Act, which would represent the EU's package of AI regulations. Tech companies that have for years criticized the EU for overly aggressive regulations are now asking, "Why is it taking you so long?" The rapidly changing landscape of generative AI makes it tricky for the EU to quickly formulate regulations.

The United States is the only advanced economy that does not guarantee paid time off. The European Union Working Time Directive, which was passed in the early 1990s, requires at least 20 working days of paid vacation in all EU countries. France provides a minimum of 30 paid vacation days per year. What's more, many European countries have paid holidays as well, giving workers there even more paid days off. “When I came to France, I noticed that vacation is a way of life,” said Fatima Cadet-Diaby, an American who has been living in Paris for nearly seven years.
London CNN —Investors are bucking tradition this year by piling into big bank stocks just as major economies are expected to either slow down or fall into recession. When economic activity slows down, bank stocks are typically among those hit hardest.
